Payment Processing Systems

Arx has a proven ability to provide specialized custom development of Payment Processing Systems. Our domain knowledge includes:

Payment Methods:

• Credit Card Payment

A Credit Card Payment System is named after the small plastic card issued to users of the system by issuer banks. Credit Cards allow card holders to obtain a line of credit with a bank, to which payments are credited. The credit line is then settled every fixed period; usually in the range 50-55 days. It is different from a charge card, which requires the balance to be paid in full each month. In contrast, credit cards allow the consumers to 'revolve' their balance, at the cost of having interest charged. Most credit cards are issued by local banks or credit unions, and are the same shape and size, as specified by the ISO 7810 standard.

• Debit Card Payment

A debit card (also known as a bank card) is a plastic card which provides an alternative payment method to cash when making purchases. Unlike Credit cards Debit Cards debit the Card holders bank account directly; as opposed to crediting the line of credit the user holds with the bank. Debit Cards usually have their own Bin ranges the differ from Credit Card bin ranges.

• PINless Debit

PINless Debit schemes allows merchants to directly debit their customers accounts through one of the PINless debit networks (namely Star, Pulse and NYCE) by entering a Debit card Number without the associated PIN.

• Bank Transfers

Bank transfers are among the most straight forward alternative payment methods where the money is directly wired between bank accounts.

• Direct Debits

Direct debit or direct withdrawal is a payment system that allows an organization to instruct their bank to collect varying amounts directly from customers' accounts, using an electronic funds transfer.

Automated Clearing House (ACH) is a network through which various batches of transactions are settled. It serves a wide range of payment schemes such as: Debit Cards, Direct Debit, and Payroll Systems.

• PayPal

PayPal offers a simplified payment model that utilizes either Bank Accounts or Credit Cards. User and Merchants create their own accounts with PayPal and the actual payment takes place via the accounts user name and password. Recipients can choose to receive the money via a check issued by PayPal instead of creating an account.
